There is a wide range of investment opportunities to choose from. Your main investment opportunities are:

  • Commercial property or land (including overseas property) which can be leased back to the employer or an unconnected party.
  • Borrowing up to 50% of the net assets of the scheme on a commercial basis for any purpose.
  • Secured, or unsecured loans to unconnected third parties (but not to connected parties [including your employer]).
  • Unlisted shares in companies that you do not control.
  • Direct investment in listed shares through a broker either on an execution only or discretionary basis.
  • Other investments such as unit trusts, OEICs, investment trusts, Insurance Company managed funds and unit linked funds, futures and endowments.
